Lance Rasmussen CDE Software Team Elevate | It's been a few hours since Embarcadero released 10.4 Sydney and I don't see an update for EDB for it? Sighhhhhhhh.
Guestimate Release Tim? Lance ps: No flames - My "annual" major release post meant to head off multiple people asking same questions and poke a little fun. |

Adam Brett Orixa Systems | ... I was actually thinking the same thing. |

Lance Rasmussen CDE Software Team Elevate | Great answer! Didn't think about that.

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Lance,
<< It's been a few hours since Embarcadero released 10.4 Sydney and I don't see an update for EDB for it? >> I really thought I was going to get them out on time this year but, alas, things didn't cooperate again. Then, I thought "Monday, for sure..." but, alas, another delay. This time it was needing to change around all of the "10S", "10B", etc. version numbers to decimal versions, instead. The old version numbers were confusing to customers, and with 10.4 Sydney, we had a duplicate (10.0 Seattle), anyway. Fortunately, it's all straight now and 10.4 support is available now. Lance Rasmussen CDE Software Team Elevate | Thank you so much Tim!
I was thinking the same thing, with the "S" flag. I'm not sure if Emb thought that out either. I prefer the numbering anyways - Just have to edit my Finalbuilder script for recompiling the components. While less pressing - Is there plans for an OSX64 version? I noticed that OSX32 wasn't an option for 10.4. Any updated timeline in your planning for Android / IOS / Linux64 support? Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Lance,
<< While less pressing - Is there plans for an OSX64 version? I noticed that OSX32 wasn't an option for 10.4. Any updated timeline in your planning for Android / IOS / Linux64 support? >> Yep, EWB 3 is almost there, so my plans after it is released are to: - Fix the issues with session management in the ElevateDB Server, specifically the inability to kill a session with a runaway SQL execution - Add a daemon version of the ElevateDB Server for Linux as part of a 64-bit Linux port - Add 64-bit MacOS port After those are done, there will probably be a slight gap while I address some other EWB issues/features and then I'll doing the mobile ports. For example, I've had a lot of requests for the EWB TDataSet-descendant components for native Delphi so that customers can use the EWB Web Server to safely provide internet access to their ElevateDB databases until I can get TLS support into ElevateDB (along with AES encryption). Just to clarify: it is typically safe to expose an ElevateDB Server to the internet as long as the symmetric comms encryption password is kept secret (obviously, this assumes that you're using proper user security with roles/privileges). However, the ideal scenario is for ElevateDB to offer TLS support so that the level of safety is at a maximum (no man-in-the-middle attack possibilities) and so that private keys can be stored more securely.
