Better as an support ticked as it could affect also other Lazarus/Free Pascal users. In the meantime I will use an old wrapper I have created in the past to work with non unicode capable databases. Thank you to all for your help and tests to find out that only Lazarus is affected. |

The issue here is something that isn't obvious, but it has to do with how Lazarus/FreePascal is handling strings vs. Delphi.
