Just curious - does anyone else have customers that have problems with anti-virus software affecting EDB in Client/Server mode, or is it just me?

Not with EDB but with DBISAM in Client/Server mode which is basically
same thing.

We require exceptions to be in place but sometimes it is missed.

Usually run into issues with the "modern cloud and AI" AVs since all
they really appear to be doing is relying on having "seen" the
executable in the wild a lot so all of it is false positives since
EDB/DBISAM and our executables are relatively rare in that sense.

We use virustotal when in doubt to prove customers that their AV is at
fault.

I sometimes have issues with McAfees, Nortons, Avira and others, but always with Eset.

With Eset everything just "freezes".  It's easy to prove to customers that it's Eset causing the problems because when I remote in and temporarily disable it everything works fine.

Of course, when AV software causes these problems they assume it's my software that's the issue until I can prove otherwise.  Guilty until proven innocent.  It becomes a bit tiresome after a while.
