Ian Branch | Hi Team,
Should I be able to create a Text Index on a CLOB field in a View and then open the View? If not, why not? Regards & TIA, Ian |

Raul Team Elevate | <<Hi Team,

View is a virtual construct - basically a select statement. At most you can modify data underneath (if sensitive) but not metadata of the base tables. Raul |

Ian Branch | Hi Raul,
I was afraid of that. The base tables do have Text Indexes but it doesn't help. Regards, Ian |

If you want the text index for speed I can't help. If its to select then my TextSearch function (yoou have a copy) may do the job Roy Lambert |

Ian Branch | Hi Roy,
It's for speed, given the general performance/age of the Customer's Server PC. Ian |
