TEDBEngine component |

"Fons Neelen" | Hi Tim,
This may be a stupid question, but I need to be sure about this. The TEDBEngine component can be set to either client or server. If I set it to client, then I do *not* have to set the ConfigPath property? I use a CS setup, not a fileserver setup. I am kind of confused though by the the strong warning stated with this property that "All applications accessing the same databases must use the same configuration file. Failure to do so will result in locking errors." I still believe I do not have to set this ConfigPath property when TEDBEngine is set to client in a CS setup, but this strong warning got me wondering. On the other hand, the LargeFileSupport property *does* need to be set to the same setting as the server. Correct? Makes me wonder though, if I did set the ConfigPath the application (client) should know the LargeFileSupport setting of the server. Hope you can clarify this. Could you update the help file so that it is more clear which of the TEDBEngine properties are related to the client or server setting of the EngineType property as you did in the DBISAM help file? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Fons Neelen The Netherlands |

Not that it could be of any harm if I did set this property Thanks for clearing this up. > << Could you update the help file so that it is more clear which of the > TEDBEngine properties are related to the client or server setting of the > EngineType property as you did in the DBISAM help file? >> > > I'll see what I can do. I appreciate it. Best regards, Fons |
