"Ole Willy Tuv"
I'm trying to recover after listening to Hank Marvin (The Shadows) playing
"Don't cry for me Argentina" on his Fender Stratocaster with heavy strings
!!

He's a marvelous lead guitarist.

Shadows are very good....   Ventures are even better...    Dick Dale
recently stopped by at the local music store a block from me promoting his
new album.

Ah the good old days when "pop stars" could actually play their instruments and (but not in the Shadows case) sing.

Okay, I'm going to iTunes to see what this is all about since I have never
heard of The Shadows.  Which is surprising, because I do like a lot of 50's
and 60's music.

No doubt, if you like 50's and 60's music, you'll love the Shads and Hank
Marvin's beautiful Fender sound.

Yep, I checked them out on iTunes and I've actually heard a few of those
songs but never knew that it was them.  Good stuff.

Here's a very interesting article about overcompression that you might like:

Very much so, and it's something I see regularly.  I had a CD-R in the car
the other day that had some new songs mixed with some older songs (all from
iTunes).   The old songs were so quiet as to require an adjustment of
several notches on the volume control just to get it to the same volume
level as the new songs.
