Thinking better, I have to agree with you.

Left the query open waiting for user allow complex queries to be executed
(it takes some time to process) and we can browse to the data using a simple
algorithm. But thinking about Google, the query to find some words is not
complex and therefore can be processed faster and re-executed every time it
needs.
