Thread EDB 1.06 lock

Tim,

I tried to test the refreshing of views (was solved in 1.06). However, some
strange things occur. I connect to a remote DB in EDBmngr and with a
testapp. The app shows the view. After editing -in EDBmngr- a field in a
table (that is part of the view) I would then refresh the view to see the
changed value. However on editing the field in EDBmngr I first got an
"Cannot Lock table .." error. Retried and EDBmngr freezes. I shut down
EDBmngr via Taskmanager, but on that table I keep getting the lock error. I
even closed the testapp, but nothing seems to help.

1 How can I get rid of the lock?
2 What could possibly have gone wrong here?

Regards, Harry

What was the exact error message that you received ?  That will help
pinpoint the issue.

Tim,

Just tried again. The EDBmngr just 'hangs' no error. I will send the
testappproject and dbcatalog to the binaries Ng for you to investigate.

I cannot reproduce what you're seeing here.  Could you perhaps try to post a
project without the PSC* and LMD* components included ?  Also, I'm working
with (initially) empty tables here - is that how you're starting also ?

Tim,

Posted the project again in the binaries NG (same thread). The tables I use
are not empty. Maybe I can send the tables that are involved in the view to
you. It contains customer's data, so I don't want to send it to the
binaries. Where can I send it to?

I've got the problem fixed now.  It's an issue with the views acquiring read
locks on the tables but not releasing them.  A fix will be available in
about a week in a 1.06 B2 release.
