I think you're doing something anyway but I just encountered another case where its needed. I wanted to play with memory tables, creating and populating. At this point I was just using a simple sql statement not a script but to be able to drop the table I'd created I had to close the sql window in which I populate it. I know I can save the sql to file and reload but all I wanted to do was a mod adding in another field and its a mild annoyance to have to close it, save to file before I can drop the table.
