Optimize code for SQL-server or file access server |

QuickAndDirty | Hello,
I'm implementing an addational abstractionlayer between our TDataset descandent and several other TDataset descandants including the ElevateDb Components. Our application contains codes that are optimized for SQL-servers(MS-SQL/Oracle) and for file based Databases (Paradox/BDE), actually. On application start, the kind of database(SQL or file based) that is used is detected, so that the optimzed code can be used. Is ElevateDB more a SQL-Server or more a Filebased Database? At the moment I think of it to be file based Database if used in local mode. But what if it is used in remote mode? What would TEDBTable.open do, 'Select * ' ? |
