Its currently possible to define multiple text indices on the same column. I'm not sure this is sensible, or desirable. I'd prefer it to be disallowed.

It's both sensible and desirable in some cases.  Imagine a scenario whereby
you want to use different collations with each text index for the purposes
of searching using a specific collation.  For example, one case-sensitive
and the other case-insensitive, or one accent-sensitive and the other
accent-insensitive.
