<<it will require a version number changes to
1.01, and I'm not sure if I want to increment the minor version number
already>>

Tell you what, as special dispensation, just this once, and for this week only, you don't need to Smiley

Roy,

I wish it were that simple. SmileyThe catalog needs the new minor version
number to know how to read the additional properties, etc.

Hmmm. Not quite chalk one up for my argument on restoring from backup but as Herman the German would say "very interesting but ungelivable'

Tim,

You'll still have 98 minor versions left to use, and I for one would be
very much happier with two distinct names for two distinct functions.

I tend (as you've probably already realised) to get confused when re-
reading or trying to remember subtleties in old code, and this one's spot
on for that!

Nope.  Different situation again.  The table format isn't changing, only the
catalog is changing.  IOW, if you restored the old backup with the old
catalog, it would simply overwrite the existing newer catalog.  When EDB
read in the old catalog, it would "fix-up" the catalog to the newer version
on the fly.
