<<it will require a version number changes to 1.01, and I'm not sure if I want to increment the minor version number already>> Tell you what, as special dispensation, just this once, and for this week only, you don't need to Roy Lambert |

<< Tell you what, as special dispensation, just this once, and for this week only, you don't need to >> I wish it were that simple. The catalog needs the new minor version number to know how to read the additional properties, etc. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I tend (as you've probably already realised) to get confused when re- reading or trying to remember subtleties in old code, and this one's spot on for that! -- Chris (XP-Pro + Delphi 7 Architect + DBISAM 4.25 build 3 + EDB 1.00 build 1) |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Roy,
<< Hmmm. Not quite chalk one up for my argument on restoring from backup but as Herman the German would say "very interesting but ungelivable' >> Nope. Different situation again. The table format isn't changing, only the catalog is changing. IOW, if you restored the old backup with the old catalog, it would simply overwrite the existing newer catalog. When EDB read in the old catalog, it would "fix-up" the catalog to the newer version on the fly. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
