Dan,

<< Surely users should not be faced with errors when trying to recompile
edbsrvr?
I stumbled over the same error:
 "Class TEDBTaskPaneScrollBox not found".

Perhaps Tim could change the install so that these necessary Elevate
components are installed automatically for any user who has bought the
source code? >>

Two things:

1) You should only rarely need to recompile the ElevateDB Server compared to
the DBISAM Database Server.  The rare instances are custom branding, and
that involves a lot more than just a simple recompile anyways.

2) We removed the utility/server components from the automatic installation
because customers kept trying to use them in their applications and wanted
support for them when they didn't work exactly like they thought they
should.  We're trying to make clear by not installing them as a design-time
package, that they are only for use with recompiling our utilities/servers.

Marcin,

<< I understand you do not want us to compile server. >>

This is certainly not the case.  If we didn't want to provide you with the
option of recompiling the ElevateDB Server, then we would simply not provide
the source code that allows you to do so.  However, we do expect a certain
level of Delphi expertise when it comes to doing so, and so we don't go out
of our way to make it extremely easy to do.  Even so it is fairly easy to
do.  You basically have to install the UI components (edbutilcomps.pas) into
a design-time package of your choosing, open the server project, make your
changes, and re-compile.  That's it.
