Tim,
I think I can understand TIMESTAMP being human readable and better for building a SQL string but...
Is there a recommended way to convert back and forth between OADate (float) and TIMESTAMP?

If an OADate is the same as a Delphi one this should work

Yes... a Delphi TDateTime double is a Microsoft Ole Automation Date or OADate.
