Well, I've got EDB working with Free Pascal in a native Windows Mobile
application.  You can see a very short and simple demo here:

I'm going to also try and finish up FP Linux support shortly also for 2.02,
and that will mean that we can have an EDB FP product for 2.02 that includes
3 platforms - Windows, Windows CE/Mobile, and Linux/Unix.

Nice work Tim!

Did you do any performance/mem usage test?

With the DBF component included in Lazarus I have found that basically it worked but with
some tables/indexes the unaligned exception occurred. Please let me know when it will be
ready for public beta.  Though I would not mind an alpha test either. Smile

Roy,

<< How do you find Free Pascal? >>

Rough around the edges, but doable.  It's mainly just stuff not working
exactly like you're used to, and minor UI glitches and annoying behaviors in
the IDE.  The compiler itself is pretty solid.

Leslie,

No, not yet.  The load performance of an application is good (much better
than CF, of course).  The memory usage will essentially be the same as with
a Win32 application, as far as ElevateDB is concerned.

I'm using the Lazarus 0.9.24 version because there's some issues with 0.9.25
in terms of compilation.  0.9.24 requires one update to the fields.inc
include file for the fcl-db package to fix an issue with TWideStringField,
but the rest is fine.

As soon as I get the build system working for FPC, I'll see about a beta.

Now to try and get it to work with something on the Mac platform.  I'm
personally starting to dink with that.

Yeah, I first have to get a Mac or a virtual machine running with OS X.
