Thread DevExpress and the Synchmode Property

Tim:

I believe this issue maybe related to one reported by Greg Smith "Problems with Correct Row Selection."

I posted a jpeg in the binaries illustrating how I use DevExpress's QuantumTreeList 4 and their Vertical Grid for you to view.

Essentially when I set the syncmode property for the QuantumTreeList to true and the dataset is connected to both the TreeList and Vertical Grid, the data set freezes
and will not navigate the records.  When syncmode is set to true and the dataset is not connected to the Vertical Grid as illustrated in the jpeg, it works fine although
there is no data displayed in the Vertical Grid.  If I leave both controls connected to the dataset and set synchmode to false it does not freeze and I can navigate the
TreeList; however, the Vertical grid will not display the currently selected record from the TreeList.  Without sychmode set to true the Vertical Grid will not navigate to
the correct record in the dataset.

If you need more info, please let me know.

Naturally this all worked fine with DBIsam 4.x (again, I only say this as a point of reference).  The inability to work with DevExpress components in the fashion
illustrated in the jpeg, would be a serious setback for us and ElevateDB.  Our fall back position is DBIsam 4.x since it does work flawlessly in the configuration depicted
in the jpeg.  At this point the direction we take depends on when and if you can make ElevateDB work with DevExpress components in SychMode.

Your JPEG didn't come through for me.  Could you try reposting it?

Thanks.

Greg:

I posted a zip file containing the jpeg.  BTW, I was able to select the file from the post and view it in IE so it appears the original file is OK.

If you have any problems, let me know.

I was getting gibberish in Outlook Express, but was able to get the files
from IE.  Thanks.

Tom,

<< I believe this issue maybe related to one reported by Greg Smith
"Problems with Correct Row Selection." >>

Yes, it's most likely the same issue.  DevExpress's data controller didn't
like the way we were handling bookmarks in the datasets, and it confused the
hell out of their components.

A fix will be in 1.01 build 2.
