BTW, I'm running a little late on 2.02, so if you want to try out what we've
got for FPC/WinCE, just send me an email and I'll send you the source code
for the engine/package (0.924/2.2.0 but should work fine with anything later
also).

This is not clear to me: has  this bug been reported? Are the Lazarus/FPC people aware of
the problem? They are usually quite fast on solving problems in core functionality. If you
have a solution before them, they would probably be happy to apply it to the source. As
I understand in ElevateDB this issue is already solved, so do not spend your time on
updating me on the situation, I just wanted to suggest to send a bugreport if there is
none yet, or share the solution, if you have one.

Well, it's not "fixed" yet in EDB unless you fix the FPC fields.inc file as
indicated in my bug report.  I'm considering putting a workaround in EDB for
it, but it is sub-optimal and pretty inefficient.  You can see this in my
Notes in the bug report.
