<< I experienced errors at just about every script at some time or other. It has been inconsistent. I have removed the directories before each new attempt. The server was running. I haven't had time to try again but I will turn off UAC and see how it goes. >> It's all just extremely bizarre. I'm using a completely brand new Vista install on a virtual machine, and it works flawlessly, so UAC shouldn't be an issue. Are you running any AV software or something that might interfere with creating directories, etc. ? -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Tony Pomfrett | Hi Tim,
Yes it is really bizarre. Just tried again using 2.01 build 4 with no success. I'm observing very strange things like folders not appearing on the hard drive until several minutes after running the script that created the folder (i.e very much delayed). Scripts refusing to run because a table already exists yet said table does not appear in the EDBManager treelist (although it should have been created). Pressing F5 doesn't make the table appear. It finally appears when the EDBManager is restarted. Other scripts refusing to run because a store or folder doesn't exist when clearly it does both in EDBManager and on the hard drive. I'm using Vista 64 Business with SP1 and UAC enabled. AVG Internet Security. This is a domain computer not presently connected to a domain. Tony. Tony Pomfrett | OK, disabled AVG, disabled UAC, rebooted computer and ran EDBManager as Administrator and still no success.
Had trouble with setuplaptop.sql where it complained that the store MainSetup did not exist. This was as a result of a reference to the store MainOfficeSetup which points to the store MainSetup. MainSetup did indeed exist in both EDBManager and on the hard drive (C:\MainOffice\Setup). MainOfficeSetup was shown in the treelist in EDBManager but if I clicked on it I would get a message saying the store MainSetup does not exist. Also laptopinsert.sql complained at "CALL UpdateIdentityRanges(1)" that the procedure UpdateIdentityRanges does not exist. This procedure was created in createmaindb.sql which ran perfectly. Although I restarted EDBManager between running the two scripts. |

The fact that the configuration and catalog updates are not being saved indicates to me that Vista (or something) is resetting them to the previous version after you update them. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
