Connecting EDB database to a web-application I am not writing |

adam | I have a company information system written with the EDB database. Actually it is in
DBISAM at the moment, but I am migrating to EDB, and the question is about EDB. The company is engaging website designers. I am not involved in the web side of things. My hope is to have the main company database on the company's internal server & use EDBs replication capability to automatically "push" part of the database onto an external web-server. The website designers would then have to access this data. They are used to reading data from MS SQL Server or MySQL databases, but they don't know about EDB. They say they work with C#, Flash and Java ... but I don't really have a deep knowledge of their methods. Would it be possible for them to use the EDB ODBC driver to access the data? Is there are document somewhere on how to do this? Thanks! Adam |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Adam,
<< Would it be possible for them to use the EDB ODBC driver to access the data? >> Sure, they can use the EDB ODBC Driver with all of them, and the EDB .NET Data Provider with C#/ASP. << Is there are document somewhere on how to do this? >> Both the EDB ODBC Driver and the .NET Data Provider are documented here: http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=manual&id=edb2dac If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. You can have the website designers contact us also if they have any specific questions. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
