Unfortunately it looks like 2.02 is going to need to be released without
cached updates (again) because they're not ready and I do not want to rush
out another release like I did with B5.  I am really getting pounded in
terms of support requests and issues since we've had a very large number of
new ElevateDB users in July and August.  Our priority right now is to get
2.02 released with Delphi 2009 and Free Pascal support along with bug fixes
to resolve the issues with migration and the EDB Manager, and then we can
release 2.03 with the cached updates in a manner that isn't rushed and
likely to introduce silly bugs.

Right now it looks like Monday or Tuesday for 2.02.

Thanks for your patience,

Tim,

I think this sounds appropriate.  And definately everyone is hot to trot on
D2009.
I wished EDB was the ONLY thing I had to worry about in terms of getting it
into D2009, but alas... no.

Free Pascal will be cool.   I'm looking at playing around with that on a Mac
for torture.

You should play with Objective C to make Mac / iPhone applications....  Or
would you prefer a revolver?  lol

Not good, I was counting the hours waiting for this feature, I don't understand D2009 kicking Cache out of the way, much of D2009 users are
testing it right now not having it in production, cached instead are holding applications from being converted, sold, etc., IMO if cache updates was
first in line and being also important or critical for some of us then I rather see D2009 support for next release.

But then again is only my opinion.

Hi Tim
I'm sorry to hear it.
Thats mean that I'll have to continue and play with EDB instead
of migrate my real application.

The cached updates aren't done.  If they were done, then I would release
them.

Well, it's only going to have FP support for Windows and Windows CE
initially.  Linux will be next, followed by the Mac, if possible.

I've done C before, no big deal.  C++, on the other hand, makes me want to
pull my hair out due to the syntax.

The bottom line is that we have a lot more customers needing Delphi 2009
than we have customers needing cached updates, and Delphi 2009 support was
about 2 hours of work vs. a lot more for cached updates.  That's why Delphi
2009 is being done first.  Remember, I don't schedule the Delphi/C++Builder
releases, so sometimes they end up pre-empting other features due to the
timing.
