Thread Installing an ElevateDB system
Sun, Oct 19 2008 2:03 AMPermanent Link

"Paul Coshott"
Hi All,

I have just started writing my first system using ElevateDB 2 (I never used
v1, but have used DBISAM extensively). Could someone point me in the right
direction so I can read up on what I need to do to install my software on a
user's site - mainly in relation to the catalogue. I'm not sure where this
should go (and is it different on Vista to XP) and what do I need to do at
run time to make sure the software knows where the catalogue is etc. Do I
get the database locations from the catalogue? If so, how do I update the
catalogue on the user's site to point to where their database is.
Or maybe I haven't got a clue what I'm talking about??

Thanks for any help,
Paul

If you check out the included CDCollector sample application that comes with
EDB (\examples\cdcollector) you will see that it performs these types of
checks in the data module.  That should give you an idea of how to structure
the database creation and database object (table, procedure, etc.) creation.
