Phil Read | Hi Tim & Team...
I've read a few posts and some of the manual regarding Backing up / Restoring and Stores with ElevateDB. I have gotten my head around most of it, but my application needs to backup and restore the database via USB drives, so I'm just wondering what you would advise in terms of creating stores / backing up /restoring on totally different PC's etc For example: Would I have to create a new store each time a user wants to restore from a USB stick that they insert which could appear as different drive letters each time etc. Thanks |

Phil Read | It's OK... I have gone with creating a STORE pointing to the selected
USB device, backing up and then DROP the STORE using a KEEP CONTENTS clause. |

<< It's OK... I have gone with creating a STORE pointing to the selected USB device, backing up and then DROP the STORE using a KEEP CONTENTS clause. >> That will work. There's not much overhead to creating/dropping stores other than a write/flush of the configuration file. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
