With which versions of Delphi is ElevateDB compatible?

Yes, I'm still using Delphi4.  It serves my needs, so I havent upgraded
even though I purchased D6 a long time ago.

Looking at the customer download area the most antiquated Delphi listed is V5.

Why not move along to D6 as well since you have it?

How many 3rd party components do you have in D4?

I bought Delphi versions 1 - 5.  Used Delphi 5 for years which worked well.  I bought
Delphi 2006 but was never able to get it to work satisfactorily.

Delphi 2007 is a different matter.  It was worth the effort of upgrading all the
components and upgrading from DBISAM to ElevateDB is worthwhile.

Actually, I only have dbisam, infopower (and I have the upgrade to d6
for that), and two others.

1. Shazam- which is a quirky SQL report generator that I like (maybe
because of the name), and would not want to re-do all the reports
dependent on it.

2. A sort of trivial Date/calendar entry popup from a defunct Australian
company named Adrock.  I've never been able to find anything as good tho.

The real issue is that my clientele are not really interested in
anything more than what they have now.  I tried to sell them a D6 based
upgrade some years back and they stayed away in droves.  I was just
curious about the possibility of switching to ElevateDB, but it isn't
needed if the driving force is curiosity.

Do you have the source code for these products ?  If so, then you should be
able to use them with D6 without issue, thus allowing you to use D6 with
DBISAM or ElevateDB.

From memory the major changes D4 - D6 were to do with variants and designinf. I have a wadge of 3rd party freeware from Torry etc which I had to update - most of it was dead easy.

If you have the source to the 3rd party stuff, want to move to D6, and need help let me know.
