Hi Folks,

I have an old app that I'm updating at the moment. It currently uses dbisamV3 and I eventually want it to use ElevateDB. What is my best migration path? Straight from one to the other or should I do an interim migration to
dbisamV4?

Thanks in advance, Mark

I'd go V3 to ElevateDB. The distance between V3 and ElevateDB is little more than the distance of V4 to ElevateDB (as I recall it one of the main issues going from V3 to V4 was double quotes v single quotes in sql).

Whichever you do allow plenty of time and have a brickwall handy. Its useful as you cope with the differences - sometimes its far more pleasant banging your head against it Smiley

That seems like good advice all around Roy, thanks.

Cheers, Mark

The best way is straight to ElevateDB.   Converting a DBISAM 3.x application
to ElevateDB is actually a bit easier than converting a DBISAM 4.x
application to ElevateDB.
