"Hedley Muscroft" | Just wondering what the resulting file format is when using BACKUP DATABASE?
Is it a standard ZIP or RAR file for example, or is it a proprietary format? Thanks. |

<< Just wondering what the resulting file format is when using BACKUP DATABASE? Is it a standard ZIP or RAR file for example, or is it a proprietary format? >> It's proprietary, but it uses ZLib for the compression. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Hedley Muscroft" | Thanks Tim.
(I was just asking in case it might be possible to inspect the contents of a backup file ourselves.) |

<< (I was just asking in case it might be possible to inspect the contents of a backup file ourselves.) >> There is some code in the edblocal.pas unit that shows you how to read the backups, if you're interested. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
