Thread Using ReportBuilder with ElevateDB

I use ReportBuilder from Digital Metaphors for reporting.

When browsing the reports on the screen results in buffering problems with the data.  For
example,
. at a certain point in the reports, going to the next page gives the same data as the
previous page (the page number does increase)
. going back to the previous page does not result in the same data as the previous page.

Printing the report or exporting the report to PDF gives the correct report.

The same reports connected to a DBISAM or PARADOX database works OK.

Is anyone using ReportBuilder?  Is anyone experiencing these types of problems?

Are you using the ElevevateDB DADE?

Hi Richard,

I use DBISam 4 vcl with Reportbuilder without any problems. What your
describing to me sounds a little like a problem with page bands (maybe the
bands set to static height instead of dynamic).

I've noticed that if their is a fixed region within the report where data
can not fit into the fixed region, and it goes over to the second page, with
certain settings, the data can 'repeat' itself, and this can continue
indefinitely.

I believe the problem your experiencing will be something to do with
Reportbuilder, and not DBISam as such. Try changing your bands heights to
dynamic, and if that doesn't fix the problem, I'd recommend describing your
symptoms and report layout on the Reportbuilder newsgroups.

HTH

Adam.

Hi Richard,

Just realised I'm in the EDB newsgroup, and not DBISam <doh!>

However, I'd still recommend trying changing your bands from static to
dynamic height and see if this fixes your problem, as I have seen the
problem you're describing before, but it was a reportbuilder 'layout' issue,
and not a dataset component.

Cheers

Adam.

It's most likely this same issue:

Some of the third-party components don't like the way that we were handling
bookmarks.

I am not using the DADE for these reports.  Although, I have downloaded the ElevateDB DADE
after I read your message.  Thank you for the reminder.

Thanks Adam. . I have checked and all the band are set to dynamic height.

Tim believes that the issue is resolved in the next build.  Thanks Tim  . . . .
