Hi !

Does anyone know a good link (or book) where I can learn about the more advanced SQL
(2003) features ? In DBISAM I only used select/insert/update, and I'm a little lost with
all that fancy new stuff in ElevateDB. The SQL manual provides the syntax, but I have to
guess or try out what it's actually doing or what it's good for, and this trial and error
is too time consuming.

This is no complaint, I know I can't expect a SQL-2003-for-dummys to ship with ElevateDB Wink

Regards,

Heiko

Yes, that would be very useful.  I think we should ask Ole Willy Tuv to recommend one:
he's the SQL standards guru on this newsgroup and others. Ole?

The only SQL book I've read myself is:

SQL:1999 Understanding Relational Language Components
Jim Melton, Alan R. Simon
ISBN 1-55860-456-1

Other sources I use is the SQL standard documents:

ISO/IEC 9075:2003
http://www.iso.org

and the vendor manuals shipped with the RDBMS I work with.

The Jim Melton book that Ole recommends is very good.  I don't know if he
has an updated 2003 version or not, but the 1999 book covers most of the EDB
SQL already.
