You know that sinking feeling you get when you suddenly realize with a jolt
that something isn't going to work?!

I've just realized that ElevateDB doesn't yet support renaming tables or
columns <gulp!>.

I'm currently porting a *big* .NET project from DBISAM to EDB and a large
part of the the application is dedicated to allowing users to define their
own custom 'forms' (i.e. tables), including the ability to rename fields.

I've been searching the newsgroups and have found several posts saying that
renaming columns isn't supported. Then I found this post from July last year

.... which says that RENAMING will be available in 2.02 (which I don't think
it is - unless I have somehow missed it?!)

I then found the roadmap document here :-

.... which seems to indicate that renaming won't necessarily be in 2.03!

Please can someone tell me if/when this will be available? It's absolutely
vital for my project.

The renaming of columns is on the list for 2.03.  The roadmap listing is
specifically referring to renaming entire objects, such as tables, etc.
And right now this is not on the list for 2.03.

Thanks Tim - I can probably live without renaming tables for a while
(columns are more important) - any rough estimates as to when 2.03 might be

Frankly, as soon as I stop investigating support issues, get 2.02 B8
released, and get back to work on 2.03.
