Is there any way of doing the same as a BeforePost event with triggers without having two (insert & update) triggers? I ask because I'm going to format phone numbers before they hit the database and would like to reduce the number of triggers to maintain (and yes I know - or guess - that I can have an SP or dll function called from each trigger). Roy Lambert ps what's the latest eta on V2? - I'm holding off creating all my functions and procedures until I see what new toys I get like being able to define them at the database or catalog level rather than table. |

<< Is there any way of doing the same as a BeforePost event with triggers without having two (insert & update) triggers? >> Sure, it's possible. I'll have to look into what is involved, but it seems like the simple addition of a new "action time" would do the trick. << ps what's the latest eta on V2? - I'm holding off creating all my functions and procedures until I see what new toys I get like being able to define them at the database or catalog level rather than table. >> As I said before, the main thing that we will be in 2.0 out of the gate is replication. I'll then be adding the other features as fast as possible. I'm really behind right now, unfortunately. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Roy,
<< Since you're answering questions about the roadmap any news on this? >> No, but I can sneak it into the next build. I'll also have to add functions for determining the operation type currently in effect, but that's not too hard either. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
