I'm giving you the reasoning behind the 40 characters, given a normal
identifier that uses words.  After a certain point, in terms of length, the
identifiers become hard to read when they are very long and constantly
referred to in SQL, etc.  Remember, the 40-character limit is an engine-wide
behavior, not just database names.

I never really imagined anyone would even try to use a GUID for/in any
identifier, frankly. Smiley
