Order by with multiple columns on sql generates a Data Set that is not editable |

Jianfei Xu | Hi, I use SQL query to sort, if only sort one column, dataset still editable, however, if sort by multi-column, dataset not editable. How can I make dataset editable for multi-column sort situation

To expand a bit on what Uli says. In ElevateDB the SORT BY clause must match exactly to an index if you want to be able to edit the data. So if you sort SORT BY fld1 ASC, fld2 DESC the it would not be editable if you have an index fld1 ASC; fld2 ASC Essentially think of it as being like a table, if you can set an index using a table (TEDBTable) then it will be editable. If not then ElevateDB has to create a temporary table to hold the data in the order you want so a) it takes longer for the query to run and b) the data is insensitive. Roy Lambert |
