You have another (IIS cert) installed here with also uses localhost as
cn so looks like EWB just checks the common anme (localhost) part and
uses it

That is interesting. Almost looks like it cannot load the cert or
private key

One question - if you go to your certificate and open it does it say
"you have the private key that corresponds to this certificate" in
bottom of general tab

Otherwise i think it's back to Tim

Okay, So I did the following:

(1) Delete the EWB certificate called 'localhost' from the certificate store

(2) Ran IIS and created a self signed certificate called 'localhost' in the 'Personal' store

When I run EWB now the web server starts. I assume that it is using the IIS certificate to run.

Chris,

Was this certificate in the personal store ?

Yes, EWB will use an existing localhost certificate if one exists, but the problem you may be seeing may just be down to a conflict between the EWB certificate and the IIS certificate.  EWB creates the certificate in the Personal store for the current user (by default), while IIS creates its localhost certificate in the Personal store for the local machine.  I'll have to do some more playing to see if that's where the conflict lies.
