Here is a recent system I built which shows a novel use for EWB at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Englab presents a list of 950 available workstations for remote desktop organized by Faculy/Departments/Rooms.   When users select a workstation, the system generates an RDP session to the desktop and removes that station from the list of available computers until they log out again.

A huge boon of the system is the collection and display of a variety of statistics about various types of usage.
