I think the TButtonControl should have user control over the
positioning of the text element. Centred, it looks lovely. Then you set
the icon (in a TDialogButton in my case), and it looks ugly with the
icon and OK on the left, and an acre of space on the right. This is
hard coded, so I can't use the layout editor to make the text centred
again, nor centred in the remaining space. I think that it would be
best to have the text centred all the time, and the option to make the
icon consume space or not.

Already fixed - I changed that last weekend when finishing up the new master-detail database example for 2.05.  You can now also control the font icon properties, and there are also icon properties for the caption bar of panels/dialogs.
