Frederick Chin | When I installed 2.06 in Windows 10, the desktop shortcuts for the IDE and server are not created despite not checking the box to not create the shortcuts.
I had to manually create the shortcuts. Could there be something wrong with the installation file? Note: There are no previous installations of EWB on this computer. -- Frederick |

I just tried on a clean Windows 7, and it has shortcuts. There is the "don't create shortcuts" option, but that was not checked by default. And now also on my Windows 10 machine which had the betas, and it too has shortcuts. -- Matthew Jones |

Frederick Chin | Tim,
/* Not that I'm aware of. */ I guess it is one of those unexplained things. Thanks for the reply. -- Frederick |

Sorry, I mis-read your original post. If you're expecting *desktop* icons/shortcuts, then you won't get those with EWB. It only installs to the Start Menu's programs menu, and then only if you don't select the check box for disabling this during the setup. You will just need to drag/drop the Start menu shortcuts on to the desktop. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

May I ask, out of curiosity, why an option to create desktop shortcuts was not provided? -- Frederick |

<< May I ask, out of curiosity, why an option to create desktop shortcuts was not provided? >> It's not really an EWB thing, but rather a hold-over from the fact that our other products prior to EWB were more along the lines of "component sets" as opposed to full-blown applications. I'll add something for EWB soon. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
