Steve Gill | Hi Tim,
I know you're very busy developing EWB 3 and you've had a few setbacks with it along the way. On top of that you have EDB and DBISAM to develop and support. Goodness knows how you manage it all. As it's been a while since the last EWB status update I was wondering if we're likely to see EWB 3 this year, or if it's more likely to be next year? Thanks in advance for all of your hard work! = Steve |

<< As it's been a while since the last EWB status update I was wondering if we're likely to see EWB 3 this year, or if it's more likely to be next year? >> Oh god no, it will *definitely* be *this* year. There's no way I'm ruining the holiday season by still toiling away at this thing. ![]() I'm finishing up the server administration in the IDE (still), and I'm making good progress this week, so it will probably be 2-3 weeks until I can get something alpha into everyone's hands for some rudimentary public testing. There will still be some cleanup and additions still required at that point, but most of the functionality will be ready to go and the primary thing missing will be the docs. ![]() Ha ha, I don't blame you. ![]() << I'm finishing up the server administration in the IDE (still), and I'm making good progress this week, so it will probably be 2-3 weeks until I can get something alpha into everyone's hands for some rudimentary public testing. No urgency on my part - just wanted to get a rough idea of when it might be ready. Thanks for letting me know. = Steve |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. ![]() | << Will pagination of datasets be implemented in the upcoming version?
>> The short answer is "kind of". I'm in the middle of finishing up the database API changes, specifically the front-end native components for non-browser environments (used in the IDE during dataset definition), so I need to do some tests to make sure that everything works fine in the face of datasets being re-loaded, but still in the middle of long-running client transactions. Apart from that possible, there isn't anything in the EWB 3 database architecture that prevents using pagination to load/view portions of a result set.
