Walter Matte Tactical Business Corporation | All EWB Developers
Do you use the EWB Server to host your EWB built applications? If YES - how well is it working for you? Issues, Limitations? If NO - what backend server/technology do you use? Issues Limitations? Walter |

Steve Gill | NO
I currently use an Apache server on a Linux box with PHP, CodeIgniter and MySQL. Limitations are all of the database stuff has to be done in code. However, I have a VPS set up on a Windows box in anticipation of the release of the EWB3 web server. = Steve |

Bruno Larochelle | I will 'vote' twice
![]() Here is my 'home' vote: YES .. working very well. Using Delphi XE3 compiled modules to create PDF reports. DB is DBISAM. I love the simplicity of managing this. R&D team @ Environment Canada | My second vote..
NO .. our team uses Apache on a Linux server. MySQL is the DB, with PHP as the JSON broker, and PHP for other scripting needs (PDF reports, decoders, calling other scripts, etc). This setup works well. Bruno @ work // Walter Matte wrote: All EWB Developers Do you use the EWB Server to host your EWB built applications? If YES - how well is it working for you? Robert Horbury-Smith | NO - backend server/technology = mORMot. VERY scalable and secure. Using EWBMormot.WBS (from Erick Engelke's book). |

Issues Limitations? Walter NO, on one project we use .NET REST services and on a new one we began developing (not yet in production) is based on mORMot and EDB. Once you go through the curve on mORMot it is a great platform, very robust and lightweight. The only limitation I find (on it is one that really bothers me) is that we're stuck on Windows/Microsoft and would like to have everything (mORMot and EDB) on linux... The team is debating about switching back to Firebird and Java for the webserver, but it is too expensive to retool and absorve the drop in productivity... Regards, Mane |

Bill | No, back end was a customer requirement: MS IIS - MS SQL Server, written in C#, visual studio 2010 writing of an enhanced broker (with extensive use of .net reflection) to easily answer to ewb rich client.
It needed a big effort and some enhancements on web data and web core libraries in ewb (waiting new version). Now rewriting an enhanced broker using web api in visual studio 2019 for future development. I'll sustain Elevate software and Tim in new version for the boost of productivity he gave on rich client side. I didn't find other comparable tools at all. Could we (user community) help Tim in finishing his work? |

Yes! We use the Elevate Database and Delphi for .pdf report creation. Works great for us. |
