Hey Everyone,

I recently chatted with Tim regarding EWB's future and part of that was suggesting some type of crowd funding where we could fund certain features (back end, front end, components, IDE enhancements etc.). Tim would quote the time needed, and we could crowd fund the development.

A list of possible features/components could be created and then we could vote on what is to be done and in what order. Then it's up to individuals if they want to put money towards that item.

This also gives us a real say in what is added to EWB and getting the features/components we need.

There may be discussions about developers not helping and the items that are added through the crowd funding, but for me, I don't care. I would just be happy knowing a feature I need is now available to me. And also that EWB is improving and hopefully giving it a much longer life. And making it more successful.

Not sure if Tim has any thoughts on how to organise this, but a site like GoFundMe could be used and would make everything transparent to all supporters.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Cheers,
Paul

Great idea!

I also don't care, EWB is so valuable for me that I would be happy to pay for what I need.

Same here!  I've been looking forward to the completed built in html editor preferably with an AutoSize (width/height) property.  I'm willing to contribute.

Best regards,
Allen
