Indeed. Most likely is that scripting is not enabled, but even that
should show something like a message I think. Therefore it is likely
that the code is failing somehow.

If you open the project in Chrome, and use the debug tools, it is
probable that it will show any errors that occurred.

Again without additional information it's impossible to assist you.

First - what is the test project ?

What do you mean by preview page ? (are you referring to the designer or
what happens after you compile and run the project)

Normally EWB does not say "running"  (on top it would show the URL or
file path)) - where exactly is this being shown.

What about the sample projects that ship with the EWB? EWB manual has
details on how to get them running as well as a good description of them
( EWB manual under Getting Started -> Example Applications).

This means that the IDE is waiting for a response from the web server.  Are
you using the built-in local web server, and has it been started ?
