Reading Suggestions Wanted |

squiffy Telemix Ltd. | As this thread shows - http://www.elevatesoft.com/forums?action=view&category=ewb&id=ewb_general&msg=6645&page=1 - I clearly have some reading up to do on using object Pascal as I've no idea why Tim's suggestion worked and mine didn't.
I can obviously trawl the interweb (and I will), but could anyone *recommend* an object pascal for complete spanners tutorial/handbook? I'm not completely thick. I kind of got objectish programming in PHP and I sort of understand JS objects but I do struggle with some of this stuff, and it manifests in the form of "try this - didn't work - try that - didn't work - rinse-repeat-until-something-works-and-if-nothing-does-ask-a-question-on-a-forum". Bit like what 80% of people do when trying to work out whether they should use * -> or & when using c pointers. Cheers. |

Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Hello,
Perhaps this: http://docs.embarcadero.com/products/rad_studio/cbuilder6/EN/CB6_ObjPascalLangGuide_EN.pdf Only Chapter 1 to 7 are relevant for EWB, you can pretty much ignore all the part 2 and Chapter 8 in part 1. It's a very good reference, although always keep in mind that the Object Pascal dialect implemented in EWB is very close to the dialect used by Delphi, but not exactly the same. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |
