Has anybody found a quick and easy way to grab a colour from a web page and simply past this into the EWB object inspector for a TColor property? I seem to have to grab the colour (typically as hex or RBG) then perform some calcs on it before I end up with something that the TColor property accepts AND matches the intended colour?

Nope - various systems I have all seem to have different orders. Some
are simple, some not. Main thing is to include the initial FF so that
it isn't transparent.

This is how I handle that:

I use this colorpicker:

http://melk.de/software/copi/copi.zip

In the objectinspector I doubleclick the Color property and enter the
hex value in the html-edit of the color-selection form. Not copy&paste,
but quite simple and quick.

Many thanks. The key for me was the double-click on TColor in order to pull up the dialog. I really never knew you could do this. Doh .............

I looked for a better tool and found this:

At least it stores the HTML value in the clipboard and there are some
formats available. There is one ("AABBCC") which can be used for EWB,
just add $FF to the left of the value.

I just asked the developer to add this format and will keep you up to date.

You don't need the $FF - the color editor dialog in EWB only uses the "base" rgb hex value without the alpha.  You have to use the alpha edit control to adjust the alpha directly.
