"Johnnie Norsworthy" | I just purchased a couple of Mini-ITX motherboards, and necessary add-ons to
build a little cheap database server for my network. I can't wait to test it. The configuration is: Intel D201GLY motherboard http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/d201gly/index.htm 1 GB Kingston memory (DDR2 533) Seagate 160GB 7200 RPM Barracuda Total: US$168 bucks plus shipping I am building a second machine exactly the same. Basically the idea is to offload anything I can from my development machine by throwing some of these guys in a little cabinet with my network switch. (Database servers, network gateways, web, email server, P2P, DVD burning) So I won't have a keyboard, mouse, or monitor attached. Hopefully the BIOS can be configured that way without adding fake devices or additional hardware. I'll use RTC Portal 2 to control the secondary machines after they are installed. It works very good for monitoring and controlled networked computers. I will host the RTC gateway on one of these for supporting my customers remotely also. I'd love a way to stress test my little database server after I get it running if anyone has an application to do so in DBISAM 4. I don't have one of those handy wattage meters, but I have seen reviews of this type of computer drawing about 20-25 watts. -Johnnie |

"Rita" | It must be the time of year. I was looking at a reundant 64 bit Linux
server thats had little use. I was going to load XPpro plus SnugServer on it just today. Then wham I couldnt reformat the HD so I went searching through my tech manuals for the bios stuff. Naturally its at my daughters house she has flown of to Frisco for 16 nights + 3 days in Concord ContraCosta for a job interview. I wanted a data server in a CoLo near me with 24 hour access its all on hold now until she gets back and mails me the info. Good luck with your project tho.
