Thread Nifty ways to interface Delphi with the physical world
Mon, Mar 3 2008 2:37 AMPermanent Link

David
I needed a way to trigger a switch with Delphi and I think I found a
fantastic way to do that a more.

Use a Phidget!  http://www.phidgets.com/

Phidgets are an easy to use set of building blocks for low cost sensing and
control from your PC.  Lots of ways to measure and trigger physical items.

I've already ordered a few phidgets and looking forward to working with
them.

Wow, that's pretty cool.  I'm trying to think up ways to use those
components now. Smiley

Thats soooooooo old tec ....................................
My car passes the Plessey traffic signal control box near my house
travelling south the kettle fires up. Each traffic control box has its
own ID. If I ever need the alarm clock the lights come on the kettle
fires up the telly comes on Sky news. In my sisters house switch the
living room lights on the curtains close. I have 4 cameras I can access
via my IP one covers my living room one the rear of the house one
the front and one my bedroom, I set them up if I go away, whats next
????????? Well a kid who lives by me who was a pest always asking
me to help with stuff got me interested in computer control stuff like
on lathes and milling machines. Once I got one working tho I lost
interest. That same boy however since went on to uni and he is very
much into control systems. They are working on total home control
via a remote that will be installed for under 2k if its electric it will
work
from control. I want it now ;-(
