Rita Tipton

Everyday I grab the following days betting
forecast prices for a bookie friend of ours.
I guess you all manipulate data and find it
both boring and tedious. I had until recently
have to change the look of the following into
txt delimited files.

4/1 Captain Coke, 11/2 Italian Tom, 8/1 Ziggy Lee, 8/1 Invincible Lad, 10/1
Oldjoesaid, 10/1 Hazelrigg, 14/1 Canadian Danehill, 14/1 Grissom, 14/1
Ajjaadd, 16/1 Frognal, 16/1 La Capriosa, 16/1 Littlemisssunshine, 20/1
Marvellous Value, 20/1 Noodles Blue Boy, 20/1 Luscivious, 20/1 Indian Trail,
20/1 Doric Lady, 25/1 Hypnosis, 25/1 Nubar Boy, 33/1 Danum Dancer, 50/1
Pawan

Then in Notepad++ I found you can format
with replace by just filling in the replace box
like this >Replace  ,
              With \n
Puts the above to a list like below I did just
press enter at each comma Winkbefore I figured
it out that is.

4/1 Captain Coke
11/2 Italian Tom
8/1 Ziggy Lee
8/1 Invincible Lad
10/1 Oldjoesaid
10/1 Hazelrigg,
14/1 Canadian Danehill
14/1 Grissom
14/1 Ajjaadd
16/1 Frognal
16/1 La Capriosa
16/1 Littlemisssunshine
20/1 Marvellous Value
20/1 Noodles Blue Boy
20/1 Luscivious
20/1 Indian Trail
20/1 Doric Lady
25/1 Hypnosis
25/1 Nubar Boy
33/1 Danum Dancer
50/1 Pawan

So now you have my method tell me yours Wink
Somedays I have 1500 to do but not anymore
Next I will tell you how I get the comma after
the numerics to make 2 fields.

Adam H.

Hi Rita,

Nice tip with Notepad ++. Just upgraded from 4 to 5 to get this feature. Smile

Sadly, my method would have been to throw the text into a Memo field,
and write a quick app in Delphi to do the conversion. LOL

Cheers

Adam.
