Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | DBISAM is a non-unicode database. I know some people have used it but it can cause problems. Have a look at ElevateDB that is designed for unicode.

I don't know what problems since I have never used unicode and probably never will. I'm just going of posts by others in these newsgroups. You may never have a problem. If all you're using is a single table with no indices and no memo fields then there's a lot less to go wrong. Rolf Frei has recently modified DBISAM V3 to work with DXE so why not just try it and see what happens. Roy Lambert [Team Elevate] |

I have been using DBISAM with Delphi XE without any problems. What kind of problem DBISAM can cause ? I know the difference between ANSI and UNICODE and the problem (at least for me) is not DBISAM. Eduardo |

<< I use tntcomponents in delphi 7 for unicode supporting Dbisam can work with it? >> Yes, but DBISAM cannot store Unicode strings directly. It can store MBCS strings as ANSI strings, and always uses ANSI strings for all storage and formats, even under Delphi 2009 or higher. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
