If its indexed and you use TEXTSEARCH it shouldn't be. AT least it isn't for me.

If the memo field is full-text indexed, then it is never a brute-force
search if you're using the TEXTSEARCH() function.

If its a query try it in DBSys and look at the plan to see where its unoptimised. If its a filter pretend its a query Smiley

Thanks. Actually, I'm using the TEXTSEARCH() function and the problem may
have cleared up. I'll remember to try this. DBiDesktop is another
alternative I have and it is doing virtually instant searches.
