Error #15001 |

Joe Real | We are using DBISAM version 4.19 in our production server being accessed by IntraWeb
Application server. We have two physical machines, one for the DBISAM database server and one for IntraWeb Server. We have been smooth sailing until last night when our web customers (FireFox or iExplorer) reported Error Compressing data (#15001). This is related to failure in compressing the buffer and should never happen with DBISAM. Both systems are running on Windows XP Pro and we have up to 100 users concurrently connected during peak load to the IntraWeb server, and just about 35 or less to the DBISAM server during peak load. Now that this error #150001 happened, what could have caused this? Are there hackers trying to go around our system, some yet unknown exploits and we are ground zero attack? Or something else trivial. Any insights would be appreciated. |

I remember getting this error a while back when I was testing various session settings. I think it was when I had RemoteTrace on for a session. I never researched the exact cause or reported it to Elevate because I was doing so many tests it was hard to reproduce. -Johnnie |

There's a bug fix that microsoft broke IE with that sounds like this. It
is to do with HTTP 1.1 compression. I'd say that was your problem... /Matthew Jones/ | |

Okay, found the message I saw:

If your computer is windows XP or windows 2000 the workaround (which totally solved the problem for me is: 1. start Internet exployer 6. 2. on the TOOLS menu, click INTERNET OPTIONS, and then click the ADVANCED tab. 3. In the SETTINGS box, click to clear the USE HTTP 1.1 SETTINGS and then click OK and apply reboot. It should now work fine. the symptom this worksaroud is: IE unexpectedly exits when you view a Web site that uses the HTTP 1.1 protocol and compression. Thanks for this. I've noticed IE crashing now and then on certain pages of well-known web sites (eg, NY Times) since the last MS update. Have made this change and we'll see if this stops happening.
