"Al Vas" | Hi,
Are there any potential issues with a Vista client accessing a client-server DBISAM? Have a had a client install a workstation and claiming it can find the server. Still need to do some research and actually sounds non-Vista type issue to me, but just wanted to check if anyone out there is running Vista clients to a DBISAM V3.30 server. Thanks |

Gregory Sebastian | Hi Al,
<<Are there any potential issues with a Vista client accessing a client-server DBISAM? >> I'm still using V3.3 myself. I have tried it both ways. App on Vista machine connecting to DBISam Server and App connecting to a DBISam server running on a Vista Machine. I did not have any problems either way. Having said that, I'm still going to upgrade my DBEngine as soon as I get the chance. Vista and XP Windows Firewall however have a habit of blocking the DbISam Server incoming network connections. DBISam Server has to listed as an exception in the firewall setting. This could be the problem your client is facing. cheers Gregory |
