Thread DBISAM Service Hangs
Wed, Aug 19 2009 8:00 AMPermanent Link

Hi,

At times, DBISAM stops responding and we have to restart DBISAM Service. Once restarted, it works again.

This was happening only once in 3 or 5 months. But recently, a client who is using our product reported that they experienced the DBISAM
Service hanging problem many days continuously. They were not facing this issue earlier.

Is there anything that needs to be checked on the server? Please advice.

That happened to me when they installed a windows update on
a win2003 box but only once, I removed the service and then
restarted it .

Did you check the server log using the Server Administration Utility
(Log/Load From Server) ?  If not, please do, and if you can, post or send me
a copy of the log in textual form (Log/Save To File/ in Server
Administration Utility)

By removed I meant deleted it rebooted the server then
ran my install batch file to set it as a service from scratch
rather than just starting and stopping the service.
The customer however will deny they patched windows.

Please do not post large attachments in the normal newsgroups.   The
Binaries newsgroup is used for such purposes.

Ahamed,

I checked out the log.  Do you have any sessions that are
connecting/disconnecting at a very rapid rate ?  There are a lot of
connections/disconnections at the end of the log, and I'm trying to
determine if they are "normal" for your application, or a situation caused
by a problem in the server.
