Deleting a line in a memo field |
Fri, Mar 17 2006 9:02 AM | Permanent Link |
Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | I currently store information in a memo field, essentially company attributes which consists of words separated by hard spaces (#160). I want to be able to delete from all records a specific line where I know the text
eg Record 1 might have Distribution: National Distribution: Local Distribution Manufacturer I want to delete the third line. I was going to use REPLACE but that would result in : National : Local Manufacturer Anyone have an idea? BTW there are a variable number of lines in the field depending what's been added so Record 2 might read Distribution Distribution: National Food Products Manufacturer Roy Lambert |

<< I suddenly realised I could take the easy way out and wrote a custom function - I do like that facility. >> And the good part is that in ElevateDB you will be able to write it using SQL procedural code, saving the compilation step. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Jason Lee | Frans,
I know, it's not fair that Tim can post little teasers about ElevateDB, but we aren't allowed to talk about it I think, as a punishment, that Tim should send you and I ElevateDB so we can start testing it ~Jason Lee Frans van Daalen wrote: > Tim , you can not say that ! > > let me quote you > " > I'd like to make this official and state publicly that I cannot discuss > ElevateDB features or behaviors any more until the beta is ready and > available > " |

You're off the hook - you're not discussing it any"more", simply continuing and reinforcing comments made many months ago. Roy Lambert |
